About Us:
1503 Mission Network Bread of Life Christian Church is a Spirit-filled, Chinese-speaking community with three locations in Sydney: Chatswood, West Ryde, and North Strathfield. Established in 2002, our mission embodies the "1503 Church Planting Strategy" and is focused on "Building Churches with Disciples Full of God's Love and Power."
Our English-speaking Youth Group is a cell group, gathering at our North Strathfield location. We have a group of teens and young working adults passionate about raising up the next generation of Christ followers, instilling the importance of discipleship and the powerful work of the Spirit.
We have an average attendance of 180 people on Sundays over three services, with approximately 20-30 attendees during our Saturday night Youth Groups. We are seeking a part-time Youth Pastor to further develop our growing English youth ministry.
The Youth Pastor will set the vision, lead, train and encourage our team of volunteer leaders, and oversee our Saturday night youth group and our Sunday youth Bible Study groups. The person will drive our youth evangelism and mission activities, and should be respectful of Chinese culture, but need not be of Chinese background.
Position Overview:
As our Youth Pastor, you will play a crucial role in leading and nurturing our young people. You will be responsible for developing and implementing engaging programs, leading youth activities, and providing spiritual guidance to our young members. Your leadership will be instrumental in fostering a strong sense of community and faith among our youth.
Key Responsibilities:
· Youth Programs: Oversee all our Youth programs, pathways and systems - making them more effective, and/or developing new initiatives as necessary. Focus on the Vision and Strategic priorities of the church by applying them to our Youth Ministries. Ensure all teen ministry programs and leaders comply with safe ministry requirements.
· Leadership: Recruit, train and oversee a growing number of volunteer team leaders and team members, and build amongst them a culture of love, support and encouragement. Uphold, model and teach the Beliefs, Values and Culture of the church.
· Mentorship: Grow as a disciple of Jesus and help others grow as disciples. Envision and equip youth to serve others with their gifts, and to reach out to their mates.
· Collaboration: Partner with parents to make godly and mature disciples of their children by envisioning and resourcing them. Work closely with church staff and volunteers to support the overall mission of the church.
We are looking for someone who:
· is a mature and godly follower of Jesus.
· has formal training in ministry or theology (either completed or currently studying).
· has ministry experience with youth and/or kids.
· has a demonstrated ability to lead leaders, train leaders and manage teams.
· is able to teach and communicate effectively.
· is able to influence people and move them into leadership roles and ministries.
· is able to relate to people of all ages.
· is able to manage their time and responsibilities well.
· satisfies the requirements of the NSW Working with Children legislation.
· is willing to undergo a National Police Check.
